Our Community RePaint member organisation in Weymouth is run by the Weymouth Climate Hub. They are part of the Climate Emergency Centre Network which is a growing network of local community groups seeking to establish local spaces dedicated to combatting climate change and biodiversity loss. The idea is to utilise “meanwhile leases” to bring unused and empty high-street properties into community use. In Weymouth a group of local people have registered the charity “Climate Resources And Guidance”, whose operating name is Weymouth Climate Hub.
In terms of paint, they offer full and part full tins of new and surplus paints, available to purchase from £2 per litre. To pick up paint for your project, simply visit during the opening hours.
They collect paint from retailers, traders, manufacturers and will accept donations of usable full and part tins of paint from individual householders, although please make an appointment before dropping off. Please contact them to discuss reusing your paint.
Paint stock varies throughout the year depending on what paint has recently been passed on for reuse by local businesses, traders and/or waste contractors in the area.
If there are specific types or colours of paint you are interested in purchasing for your project, we recommend contacting them directly ahead of visiting, to find out if they have the paint you’re looking for in stock.
If you need larger quantities (over 60 litres) of paint for a community project, you can also order our remanufactured paint from us centrally. Find out more here.
