Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, who run Community RePaint Rochdale, have supported a local community park by supplying paint and volunteers, to celebrate their five year anniversary of becoming a mutual society.
For many years Hopwood Park in Heywood was neglected, but a fantastic community group The Friends of Hopwood Park have transformed the space, as they see the area as a valuable asset to the community. They believe the space should be utilised to give the best opportunity for residents to gain benefits from exercise, community cohesion, and well being.
Community RePaint Rochdale, who are run by Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, lent a hand on the hottest day of the year, to paint the interior and some of the exterior of the community business. They gave the already popular Hopwood Cabin a fresh lick of paint, which you can see below.
The Tree House Cafe at Hopwood Park is a new community business, managed by local people with revenue being reinvested directly into Hopwood Park for the benefit of the local community. See below the transformation of the interior of The Treehouse Cafe.
