About the scheme
Our scheme in East London is one of our largest, collecting over 40,000 litres each year. Run by Forest Recycling Project (FRP) they joined the network in 1998. The majority of their paint comes from local recycling centres where they collect paint which has been dropped off by local residents. If you live in East London and have leftover paint you can find you local drop off point here. They also collect paint locally from traders, retailers and manufacturers.
Reclaimed paint of all types – including emulsions, paint for interior and exterior wood and metal, masonry paint and varnishes – are available in all colours and sizes from two locations – ‘The Paint Place Reuse Project’ in Leyton and their shop ‘The Paint Place’ in Walthamstow. Both locations have paint available for sale to individuals and groups. The Paint Place Reuse Project is where their paint is processed and stored. Due to this they have larger volumes of paint here so it is good for charities and groups needing larger amounts of paint for their project. The Paint Place shop has a smaller selection of popular colours and brands, making it a good place to visit if you need smaller amounts for a home decorating project. The two locations are close to each other so you can visit both, or staff can advise you on stock at the two places.
If you need larger quantities of paint for a community project you can also order our remanufactured paint from us centrally. Find out more here.
