Our scheme in East London, run by Forest Recycling Project, is one of the oldest and largest in the network, joining the network in 1998 and collecting over 40,000 litres of paint each year.
The majority of their paint comes from local recycling centres where they collect paint which has been dropped off by local residents.
Reclaimed paint of all types is available in all colours and sizes from the scheme’s two premises – ‘The Paint Place Reuse Project’ in Leyton and their shop ‘The Paint Place’ in Walthamstow (click here for further details).
The Paint Place Reuse Project is where their paint is processed and stored. Due to this, the scheme stocks larger volumes of paint at this premises, so it is good for charities and groups needing larger amounts of paint for their project.
The Paint Place shop has a smaller selection of popular colours and brands, making it a good place to visit if you need smaller amounts for a home decorating project.
The two locations are close to each other so you can visit both, or staff can advise you on stock at the two places.
You can also complete a paint request form on their website. The scheme operates a free membership scheme which gives not-for-profit organisations access to exclusive offers.
Please note, if you are looking to pass on your leftover paint for reuse, this scheme does not accept paint donations from householders. Instead, please use our householder drop-off point finder to find out if you have a Community RePaint householder paint drop-off point in your area.
