We’re delighted to announce the opening of two new Community RePaint stores at recycling centres in Essex, bringing free, reusable paint to even more local people and community groups!
At many recycling centres across the UK, residents are still instructed to dry out leftover paint before disposal and incineration. This is despite the fact that around 60% of paint taken to recycling centres could still be reused, meaning it never needed to become waste in the first place.
That’s why we’re delighted to be working with a growing number of local authorities and waste management companies across the UK to help put an end to paint waste for good.
Thanks to the commitment of Essex County Council, residents can now donate reusable paint at a growing network of Community RePaint stores across the county. Paint is currently available free of charge from Community RePaint stores at Braintree, Brentwood, Chigwell, Chelmsford, Clacton-on-Sea, Colchester, Maldon, Canvey, Witham, Burnham-on-Crouch and Saffron Walden.
The paint collected through these schemes is redistributed for decorating projects that help brighten homes and community spaces across Essex.
