New Community RePaint scheme launched in Blaenau Gwent
If you are in need of affordable paint it can now be purchased in Blaenau Gwent. The launch was on Wednesday 25th April by the Chair of Trustees, Beverly Humphreys, who you can see in the video below. The scheme is run by Growing Space – ReCover and they are based in a shop at 16 Beaufort Street, Brymawr. They are now open on Mondays and Fridays initially for the sale of affordable paint and you can find the rest of the details on our website here.

Nottinghamshire County Council allow residents to pick up free paint
The free paint that is available has been dropped off by other householders in the area, which they are no longer in need of. Even though colours and types cannot be predicted, there should be a range of options available.
If you’d like to pick up some free paint, call Nottinghamshire County Council on 0300 500 80 80 to reserve a slot between 5-7pm, pre-booking is essential.

- Warsop Recycling Centre – Thursday 26 April
- Newark Recycling Centre – Wednesday 9 May
- Beeston Recycling Centre – Tuesday 22 May

Picasso reused canvas paintings from other artists
Picasso’s painting, The Crouching Lady, was analysed using innovative technology that showed the canvas painting in new detail, giving insight into Picasso’s creative process. As to why Picasso would paint over another artist’s canvas, there could be a range of reasoning. This could include an economic necessity of an artist or to drive a deeper level of inspiration using the painting that had already been created.
