Our scheme in Crawley is run by Biffa in partnership with West Sussex County Council and operated through the Recycling Centre. At this site West Sussex residents can drop off leftover paint from their home or pick up paint to reuse for free. Here’s how it works:
Drop off leftover paint
Residents with leftover paint from their home, can drop it off at Crawley Recycling Centre. Local groups and individuals can then collect this paint for free to reuse in the community. You must have an appointment to visit this centre, this is an easy process that can be done on the West Sussex County Council website here.
Please note that this drop-off point is managed by the Council, therefore they cannot accept paint donations from businesses. If you’re a trader, retailer, manufacturer, or other business with leftover paint, click here to learn how you can donate it for reuse through the Community RePaint network.
If you are not a West Sussex resident, you will not be eligible to access the site to drop off paint, and you may be asked for a proof of address to visit the centre. No drop-off point in your local authority area? Why not encourage your council to join our network- download our template email/letter here.
Collect paint for your home or project
If you’re looking to redecorate your home or get creative on a community project, you can! Both full and part-full containers of paint are available to collect for free.
To explore the variety and range of paint colours available at Crawley Recycling Centre, pay them a visit and browse the selection on offer. Staff on site will direct you to the Community RePaint area.
West Sussex also have a Community RePaint scheme at their sites in Westhampnett, Burgess Hill, Horsham, Littlehampton and Shoreham.
