Made by Rosie, an artist based in Bristol has created a wonderful mural using leftover paint from our Community RePaint Bristol South scheme. Rosie painted the mural of Wellington Monument on a shed and what a difference it makes!

We were blown away by this school mural created by students and staff at a school in Bradford.
Mark Foster posted on Community RePaint Bradford’s Facebook page: ‘School Entrance for Phase 1 and 2..all done by year six students and myself. Carefully cut out all the space shapes from MDF and all the paints came from Community RePaint Bradford. The guys were a great help mixing me some great shades I needed for this one…Thank You..’.

The volunteers used paint from Community RePaint Bristol City to give their school a fantastic makeover. Parents, grandparents, parents of past students, ex-pupils, sports teams at the school, local tradespeople and more volunteered to paint, producing a freshly painted sports hall, changing rooms and dance studio. Watch the video below to see how successful the day was.

We love seeing the rise of zero waste shops, especially when they purchase leftover paint to decorate from our schemes (in this case, Community RePaint Cheshire) to ensure their environmental impact is as low as possible. Just Footprints purchased neutral paints to create a light and bright store which looks fantastic.

“When we were creating our eco-conscious party, I was given the challenge of bringing loads of colour to the set design, while staying true to #zerowaste principles. So I was over the moon to discover that @communityrepaint operate a network of paint donation schemes in the UK. Paint isn’t great for the environment, but if you’re going to use it, it is obviously far better to use some old paint that has been donated to a waste recycling centre, rather than just being sent to landfill or incinerated… So, the next time you need paint – for the set-design of an eco-conscious party, or just for decorating your home, get in touch with your #local community repaint scheme for a much more eco-friendly (and wallet-friendly) solution to the issue. And (of course), if you have any paint left over at the end of a job, make sure to donate it so someone else can benefit!”
