Waterdale (Garston) Recycling Centre & Reuse Shop

Hertfordshire County Council runs our Community RePaint scheme in Waterdale at the Household Waste Recycling Centre. At this site, Hertfordshire residents can drop off leftover paint from their home or pick up paint for free. Here’s how it works:

Drop off leftover paint

Residents with leftover paint from their home, can drop it off at Waterdale Recycling Centre. Local groups and individuals can then collect this paint for free to reuse in the community. If the paint is in good condition, in its original container, and at least half full, it will be stocked at the Reuse shop on site. Hazardous or spray paints are not accepted. To drop off at this site, you need bring a proof of address.

Please note that Waterdale drop-off point is managed by the Council, therefore they cannot accept paint donations from businesses. If you’re a trader, retailer, manufacturer, or other business with leftover paint, click here to learn how you can donate it for reuse through the Community RePaint network.

If you are not a Hertfordshire resident, you will not be eligible to access the site to drop off paint. Please check the Hertfordshire website to check if there are permits for neighbouring counties.
